Buying a Squeezebox.

At the moment, you can't find these in too many stores, so follow the link below and order direct from the manufacturer. Slim Devices will ship directly from the factory to you.

If you order by noon California time (3PM Eastern time here in Oakville), they usually will ship it out the same day.

If you're in the US, the shipping is currently free.

If you're in Canada, the shipping isn't free, but it's pretty easy.

  1. Click on the Buy your Squeezebox here link. This window will stay open and your order with Slim Devices will open in a new window.
  2. You have options of black or white squeezeboxes, wired or wireless. Currently, wired Squeezeboxes cost $249 US, wireless ones $299 US. The colour options don't effect the price. We recommend wired squeezeboxes unless you are a computer geek or know one who can help you set up and secure a wireless network.
  3. There is another page where you can order fancy cables and some swag. Mostly you can ignore this page.
  4. There are 2 shipping options to Canada. Express takes 1-2 business days and costs a little less than 33 dollars US. Expedited takes 2-5 business days and costs a little more than 28 dollars.
  5. Slim Devices will total what you have bought, plus shipping and handling to Canada, in US dollars. It will not including duty or brokerage.
  6. You pay with a credit card. The web site takes Visa, MasterCard or Amex.
  7. Your credit card company will automatically convert the US $ amount to Canadian $ for you. At the moment, the conversation should be about $1.11. That is, 1 US $ will cost you about $1.11 Canadian.
  8. UPS will show up with your new Squeezebox in 1-5 days, depending on shipping options.
  9. Something like 2 weeks later, a bill will show up from UPS for the GST and brokerage handling. In my experience, this has been another $20-30 Canadian. GST on a wired squeezebox is $20 CDN, the brokerage handling fee seems to vary based on the phase of the moon..
